What does service look like after coming home wounded from war?
The MisFitNation kicks off Veterans Week 2026 with U.S. Army Veteran, Purple Heart recipient, and Military Order of the Purple Heart National Commander Frances Figueroa-Lowe for a conversation about resilience, leadership, and standing up for fellow veterans.
Join Rich LaMonica LIVE Sunday, November 8, at 7 PM CT.
Frances served in the United States Army from 2003–2006 and deployed to Iraq, where mortar shrapnel injuries earned her the Purple Heart. Her path after military service led through higher education, a career in human resources, and a continued commitment to veterans through her work at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Within the Military Order of the Purple Heart, she served at the chapter, department, regional, and national levels—bringing firsthand experience and a people-first approach to veteran advocacy.
We’ll explore:
• Her Army service, Iraq deployment, and life after combat injury
• Finding purpose and building a civilian career after the military
• Women veterans, representation, and leadership
• Supporting combat-wounded veterans and their families
• Her priorities as MOPH National Commander
• Practical ways communities can support veterans beyond Veterans Day
Whether you’re a veteran, military family member, leader, or civilian supporter, join us for a conversation about how lived experience can shape meaningful service to others.
💬 Bring your questions for Frances to the live chat. Watching the replay? Tell us: What does supporting veterans look like in your community?
