Welcome to The MisFitNation Podcast site

Welcome to The MisFitNation Podcast! We started out in 2010 as a band of MisFit Soldiers on a desert plain. In the years since our bond has stayed and we have grown. With this platform, we will share stories of courage, mindset, resilience, and battling those enemies within. We will also highlight the work of Veteran entrepreneurs, Small Business owners, Authors, Musicians, and other Podcasters. While we highlight Veterans we are for everyone. We hope you will be engaged by our work and continue to support us through your listening.

We started this show as a way to help others get their stories heard. These stories are of triumph, of starting a business from the ground up. They are stories from around the world. If you want to be a part of a show send us a message on the contact us page or a voice message off any of our pages.  We will do our best to get back to you in a timely manner.

We are advocates for Mental Health! We understand what it takes to make it over the hump when the bad thoughts come into your head. We believe in working on the problem and not trying to solve it instantly. If you or someone you love is going through a rollercoaster battle do not hesitate to get help.  You may phone your friends, find a person you can confide in or call a hotline for help.

If you are a Veteran in crisis call 1800-273-8255 and select option 1

The Veterans Crisis Line is a free, anonymous, confidential resource that’s available to anyone, even if you’re not registered with VA or enrolled in VA health care.

Rich LaMonica

CEO/ Host

Rich LaMonica Is a 22-year veteran of the United States Army who
was deployed on multiple occasions in support of the Global War on Terrorism. It was during this career he evolved as a leader of people. His education came from great mentors who showed him how to take care of people. He retired in 2015 and went through an entire year
of self-reflection as he transitioned to civilian life again. Those 365 days from retiring to finding a job taught him valuable lessons about the transition. This has powered his drive to help other veterans as they go through the transition and any other roadblocks they are hitting.
He is a Motivational Speaker who discusses Mindset, Resilience, Grit, and more skills that will make you find your Purpose no matter the journey you have been on.
He is currently finishing up two books while pursuing a Ph.D. from Liberty University in Homeland Security.
He lives by rules and has a motto that resonates with fans of How I met Your Mother “Challenge Accepted”.

Originally from Dallas, TX Sam moved to Clarksville, TN, and spent the time from her adolescence through her young adult life there. It is here where she met her now husband. He is a Soldier in the United States Army and together they are seeing many new locations with a move to Korea on the horizon. They have two boys, Braden who is about to be 10, and Rowan who is 1. Boys are not for the faint of heart and they keep me on my toes. Sam is well-versed in all the pokemon and cocomelon episodes. When not devoting her time to the three boys in her life, she is working on the process of achieving my birth doula certification in the hopes of one day assisting women in the journey of motherhood. Sam is an honorary member of the LaMonica family and loves to enjoy the Italian meals and of course some much-deserved adult time in the Bar. She will bring a different side to the show, different perspectives, and a different voice to listen to every once in a while.
