For an entire generation, September 11, 2001 changed the direction of their lives.
In this clip from The MisFitNation, USMC Veteran and Purple Heart recipient Tyler Grogg talks about how the aftermath of 9/11 influenced his decision to join the United States Marine Corps and begin a journey that would eventually lead him into Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Afghanistan, and years of continued service.
Tyler would go on to become a Marine EOD Technician, deploy to Sangin, Afghanistan, survive multiple enemy IED blasts, and continue working in the explosives field after leaving the military.
But every journey has a starting point.
For Tyler, 9/11 was part of it.
