She Discovered Her Dead Twin Was Still With Her | Laurie Kirk on Loss, Mediumship & Baby Marvin

What happens when you discover the twin you never knew may still be part of your life?

On this episode of The MisFitNation, we welcome Laurie Kirk, author, screenwriter, actor, womb twin survivor, and storyteller whose remarkable journey blends trauma, neurodivergence, loss, mediumship, comedy, horror, and the lifelong search for identity.

Laurie grew up in Florida as an only child after her father left the family, unaware that she was a womb twin survivor living with PTSD. Years later, her world changed again when her mediumship emerged and she says she connected with her deceased twin brother in 2021—an experience that would profoundly influence both her life and her writing.

Today, Laurie writes stories centered on duality, complicated relationships, grief, family, identity, twins, and the supernatural. Her creative work includes the supernatural comedy Til Life Do Us Part, the psychological horror thriller This Is What Happened to Baby Marvin, and the dystopian dark comedy The Meat Department. Her novel Baby Marvin, based on her screenplay, was published by Dark Anthem Press in May 2026.
