We spoke with fire and passion about the case of Veteran JJ Millett in Vermont. Now we need to advocate for him and others like him.
This is bigger than one case. When a veteran reaches out during a mental health crisis, the system must respond with both safety and wisdom. Threats should be evaluated. Communities should be protected. But crisis care must not become a trap that scares veterans away from 988. We are asking for review, proportionality, diversion where appropriate, and veteran crisis-response reform.
