In this powerful episode of The MisFitNation, host Rich LaMonica sits down with U.S. Marine Corps Veteran Clifton Maddox—a husband, father, builder, and community-minded leader who believes that service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off.

Clifton enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2003, serving until 2010 with 4th GSP and 2nd Intelligence as an 0311 Infantryman with a secondary MOS of 8621. During his military career he supported Joint Task Force missions on both the northern and southern borders and deployed to Iraq, gaining firsthand experience in leadership, accountability, and the power of unity under pressure.

After his time in the Marines, Clifton carried those leadership lessons into civilian life. Today he works as a contractor building apartments and as a realtor, but his deeper mission is about strengthening communities and helping people move forward together.

In this conversation, Clifton shares how his experiences in the Marines and working with a college football program during college shaped his perspective on leadership, responsibility, and teamwork. He also discusses the moment that pushed him to stop being part of the silent majority and begin speaking up with conviction for the future of the next generation.

At the center of it all is his family—his wife and son—who remain his anchor and the reason he continues building something better for tomorrow.

This episode dives deep into veteran leadership, community responsibility, fatherhood, and what it truly means to keep serving long after the uniform comes off.
