What started with one simple request for pancakes has grown into a mission helping Veterans and their families in very real ways.
In this clip from The MisFitNation, Susan L. Combs explains how Pancakes for Roger has expanded from a tribute to her father, Major General Roger E. Combs, into an organization creating direct impact for the Veteran community.
Pancakes for Roger supports Veterans through initiatives that include housing assistance, legal advocacy, scholarships, community partnerships, direct Veteran and family support, and resources designed to help Veterans build stronger futures.
The organization has also supported the University of Missouri School of Law Veterans Clinic, which provides free legal assistance to Veterans navigating issues such as VA claims, appeals, and discharge upgrades.
And the impact can be deeply personal.
Pancakes for Roger has helped Veterans with housing stability, home repairs, accessibility improvements, and other critical needs that can make an immediate difference in daily life.
Sometimes helping Veterans means changing policy.
Sometimes it means helping someone keep a roof over their head.
Sometimes it means replacing an appliance so a family can finally cook together again.
That is what service after service looks like.
