On Day 7 of our Thirty Days of Gratitude, we highlight USMC Veteran Lee Him, whose message centers on connection, growth, and the gift of simply being here.

“What am I grateful for this year? Being part of something bigger. The Travis Manion Foundation and the Spartan Leadership Program — going through it with my cohort, C7 — has helped me not just personally, but in how I connect with others.”

Lee shared how hearing the stories of others helped him understand his own more deeply. The journey is shared. The healing is shared. The growth is shared.

“I’m also grateful for my family. They support me through this program and through the crazy things I decide to do.”

And above all:

“Any time I get to be upright, alive, speaking, talking — every day I’m grateful to be alive.”

Today, we honor Lee for his resilience, his presence, and the reminder that gratitude begins with breath, community, and the courage to keep going forward.
