Chasing the Rush After the Navy SEALs | Dr. Tony Dice on Addiction & Recovery

What happens when the rush you relied on in uniform starts running your life back home?

On Night 2 of The MisFitNation Veterans Week 2026, U.S. Navy SEAL veteran Dr. Tony Dice joins Rich LaMonica to talk about chasing intensity after Afghanistan, confronting addiction, and rebuilding his identity in recovery.

A former firefighter and paramedic who became a clinical therapist, Tony brings both lived experience and clinical training to a conversation about PTSD, addiction recovery, and the military-to-civilian transition. He explains what he calls “emotional compulsivity” and how constantly seeking intensity helped him avoid sitting with pain. We’ll also explore his Holistic Change Model (HC-Mod), which connects the 12 Steps with established therapy approaches, and the story behind his book, *After the Trident*.

If you’re a veteran, first responder, family member, or someone who feels most at home in chaos, join us for a conversation about asking for help and finding purpose beyond the next rush.
